It will nót play dvds ór even acknowledge thát theres data ón the disks.Soon as you close the tray with a dvd in it changes to a cd drive.Help Ive Windows XP, the DVD drive is a hp lightscribe RW.Ive never seen the option, but there may be some instances where some one would need to record RAW video to a DVD for brief clips.
